Junior/Senior Trip to Charlotte, NC to serve in the Operation Christmas Child Packing Center

12.02.2021

Our junior and senior classes just returned from an amazing trip to Charlotte, North Carolina where they served in the largest center in the U.S. that checks, packs, and ships all of the green and red Operation Christmas Child boxes from across the country. Our students were on their feet for 7-hour shifts each day working at stations that checked each box for approved items, filled them with additional things, taped them, sorted them by age and gender, and packaged them into their shipping boxes where they were immediately loaded into semi trailers. The boxes that our GCA students processed this week were sent to multiple countries in Africa. Each station that our GCA students worked at processed approximately 2,400 boxes each day. They are the last ones to touch each one of those boxes before they reach the hands of the children who will be blessed by them. It was an incredible week that was both humbling and inspiring, and our GCA students served with their whole hearts throughout their time in Charlotte.
